Summary - Spring 2012

Course Description:

Media Program Design is a seminar and production class focused on teaching the fundamentals of media production. The first step in becoming a skilled media specialist is to understand the underlying concepts and processes that all types of media production share.

You come to this class with different experiences. This is an opportunity - depending on your background - to acquire a basic foundation, to fill gaps in your understanding or to expand your interests to other aspects of production. Share your knowledge, passions and visions with each other, and use the production assignments to not only master the basics but to express your voice.

Using a hands-on approach, students in this course will learn basic production skills and aesthetics. We will explore the creative and technical elements of media production through lectures, discussions, assignments and collaboration. DVD excerpts will be screened that support the lectures throughout the semester.
