Jan. 28                        Choose groups and roles for music video

Music Video Presentation (1/28)
Post a music video to your blog that you find inspiring. Present it to the class with production background.

Emotional Photos (1/28)
Choose an emotion, such as love or jealousy - shoot 10 discontinuous images that each demonstrate the emotion. Post the series to your blog.

Music Video (2/18)
The video should have a narrative element to it. It cannot be an entire video of live band footage or experimental video feeds, though either of those elements can comprise a part of the finished piece. © music can not be used without written permission from the artist. There are songs available for use in resources. If you use one of those songs you must give a copy of the finished video to the artists and all parties can use the work for promotional purposes. Students are expected to work within their assigned roles.

MV Preproduction Proposal (2/4)
***Producer/ Director can turn in storyboards, treatment (cover next class) or a detailed synopsis for music video.

*** DP – turns in location scout form and location scout photos. Need to be photos from actual location (ex if you are shooting inside an apt. do not turn in exterior photos

*** Editor – turns in poster with tagline. For the music video, imagine you are creating an album cover for just this song. Include the band/artist name and song title. The style of the poster should represent the aesthetic of the proposed video.

MV Pitch  (2/4)
*** Producer/ Director -  clear, concise, verbal description of the project with a one-line summary or tagline.
*** DP – discuss locations and style of camera work
*** Editor – Explanation of poster aesthetic and edit style
*** Visual support – video poster & location scout photos

You will also need to play the song.
