Monologue between Michael Jackson and Britney Spears about music, backstage at a concert.

Backstage on her world tour, Britney Spears is surprised by a visit from her biggest idol, Michael Jackson. After her biggest show to date, they sit and chat backstage about music and it's influence.

A rushed Britney runs off stage in between concert sets, only to be pulled off to the side by Michael.

Michael:

Britney, That set was amazing. All of the lights and the dancers, it almost reminded me of one of my shows.

Britney:

(shocked by the presence of her idol)

Michael! I didn't know you were going to come by. This is such a surprise, I don't know what else to say but thank you! It means the world to me that you're here.

Michael:

Of course, I love to come support all of the young pop stars when I get the chance.

Britney:

You are my biggest idol, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you! You were one of the people that influenced me to become who I am today. You're musicianship inspired me ever since I was a little girl singin in Louisiana.

Michael:

Well I'm glad I could help. Music is my passion and it means so much to hear young people like you saying that to me. I am deeply humbled. I never thought I would get as big as I did. I started off in Jackson 5 and now I'm the "King of Pop". It's crazy how time flies, enjoy it while you can. Music helped me change my life, and I'm glad I am able to help all those other kids in the world change their future too!

Britney:
I started out taking a lot of dance and gymnastic classes as a child and then grew into my love of singing and it all started there. I wanted to be one of the stars. I wanted to be up there with Madonna and Whitney and you, of course!

(the roar of the crowd starts cheering and chanting for her encore)

Michael:
You better get out there! Don't keep 'em waiting too long.

Britney:
I'll only go out, if you'll join me on stage. The crowd will go absolutley nuts!

Michael:
I'll meet you out there.
