EXT. GRAND CANYON – ESTABLISHING SHOT - SUNRISE
CAMERA PULLS BACK to see a man, CASTIEL, in a trench coat standing at the edge of the canyon with his back towards the audience.

CLOSEUP – CASTIEL
With a stern look upon his face taking in the scenery.

CAMERA DOLLIES OUT from Castiel’s face.
CAMERA LOW.  We see feet walk into the frame.

HIGH ANGLE – CLARK KENT
Dressed for work for the Daily Planet.  He takes a few photos.

WIDE SHOT – GRAND CANYON

Castiel:  This place is beautiful, it reminds me of home.
Clark:  I assume you’re the one who called me here?
Castiel:  That is correct, Kal-El.
Clark:  How do you know my kryptonian name?
Castiel:  I know all about you, Kal-El, for I am an angel of the Lord.
Clark: Our Lord?
Castiel:  Yes, God.
Clark: (looking confused) I don’t understand why he sent you to get me?
Castiel: (turns around to face Clark) We have plans for you, Kal-El.  Earth’s countless number of days in darkness is approaching soon.  You’ve been recruited into our lofty king’s army.  Leviathan isn’t to be taken lightly.
Clark:  Leviathan?  From the bible?
Castiel:  Correct.  They can’t be killed.  But we have found one very odd way to hold them  captive.  (points at clark’s camera)  It’s that.
Clark: (holds up his camera)  A camera?
Castiel:  Yes.
Clark:  I don’t understand how a camera can defeat these beasts?
Castiel:  There’s a special sensor in select few cameras in the world.  Combined with a very powerful flash we can stop and capture these creatures and return them back to purgatory where they belong.  I know this sounds far-fetched but believe me Kal-El, if we had other options we’d use them.  With your kryptonian powers and this fast glass (Castiel tosses Clark a prime lens) and the Lord’s army Leviathan will be defeated quickly.
Clark:  So how do I return them back to purgatory?
Castiel:  Simple.  Return back to this place and summon me.  I’ll be in heaven fighting the holy war but I will come for you.  I’ll cite the incantation and portal will open.  And you will toss the lens into the portal.
Clark: Ok
Castiel:  Ok, Kal-El, it’s time.  The hunt for the Leviathans begin.
